#Shining force 2 rom game genie code gens full These aren’t like the ‘what if’ scenarios of Three Houses, where one narrative choice would contradict another, rather they complement each other to build a full epic. It’s a fascinating approach as when you play as Synbios from the Aspinian Republic, you’ll occasionally cross paths with Prince Medion from the Destonian Empire, hearing how they’ve come to your aid despite you being on opposite sides of a conflict (though it turns out both the Republic and the Empire have their own problems from within), while the game takes an amusing choice to limit your protagonist’s dialogue to ellipsis. Certain actions from one party can also have an impact on the other, such as whether you manage to save the archer Garosh who then goes on to join Medion’s party in his campaign. Sadly, this level of sophistication was something western players never got to experience. The PAL version of Shining Force III was released in June 1998 when the Saturn was basically on its last legs. This disc was just the first scenario, the game’s cliffhanger between Synbios and Medion’s forces purposely re-contextualised in the translation to try to give it some kind of closure. Not that you could fool the die-hard Saturn loyalists, seeing as the UK’s Sega Saturn Magazine ran an import preview of the second scenario in the same issue as their review of the PAL release.īy this point I had grown used to seeing pages of delightful import oddities (and well, some pretty pervy stuff too) on those pages, but I was desperate to find out what had happened in Medion’s story and was sorely disappointed that, despite owning a chipped machine, there’d still be a huge language barrier preventing me from seeing the saga through to its end. So imagine my delight when I recently discovered that fans had come together to resolve this. #Shining force 2 rom for gens software#.

Openscad gear library free# The result is dragged into the center of the OpenSCAD gear, aligned with the center and then combined. You can see the alignment mode dots used to give the doughnut hole & original gear a common center Then it is toggled back to a hole so it can be used for trimming the original's perimeter. The larger is toggled back to a solid before combining so it will remain. The dots represent axis & edges along which the selected objects can be aligned. Here both 'holes' are aligned on their center using the align option. The other copy of that hole will be used to preserve the core of the original gear. You can use it to centering on one or more axis at a time, or align on an edge.Ĭombining the 'hole' and the OpenSCAD gear leaves just the perimeter. Tinkercad has alignment options for multiple objects. Using the ALT key + click & drag lets me pull a copy of the smaller cylinder over to core out the OpenSCAD gear. That will also be the size that needs to be removed from the OpenSCAD spur. I can use another cylinder shape to layout the size of the portion I need to keep. I can make one the size needed by using a cylinder shape, making it a hole so I can see through it, and superimpose it on the original spur gear and adjust to get the size I need (a bit more than the original's dimension). You can also combine elements into new ones or break apart elements that were previously combined.įor example, if I break apart the doughnut like 'holes' in the above screen shot, I get the elements used to create them.Ī doughnut shaped hole is a good mechanism to removing the outer perimeter of a circular object. Any given component on the screen can be made to toggle between being a solid or a 'hole'. The center of the new gears will be removed & replaced with those cores. Using copies of the original gears (created by pressing the ALT key & dragging it away from the original), I will strip off the outer perimeter with the teeth & leave a core with the attachment components intact. They need to work with the same shafts and spur gear adapter. I need the new gears to have the same attachment characteristics as the originals. STL files built in OpenSCAD, note the more aggressive, helical, teeth. The original gears, note the relatively shallow tooth depth: so relative shaft bore positions would match close enough to work). I fiddled with scale & tooth count to get the sum of their radius measures to approximate that of the two original gears (i.e. I bashed out a couple of helical gears, a spur (72T) and pinion (11T). The replacement gear was done in OpenSCAD using the gears library by Dr Jörg Janssen. Openscad gear library free# These were uploaded to (a free resource) & I got dimensions on the overall gear sizes from the on-screen ruler. I just grabbed a 96 tooth spur & 22 tooth pinion for the example. The original gears are from the MKULTRA design on cults3d ( )īy Lynxman. I could have matched it, more closely, but just did a quickie for this example) (BTW, in the process shown, the ratio is going to change from about 4:1 to about 6:1. In this case, let's say I have a gear set that I want to change to a heavier tooth profile. I thought I'd pass along an example of modifying an existing.
